Careers at Leak Inspector

Professional leak detection services tailored for your industry in Southwest Florida.

Build a Career in Leak Detection

Leak Inspector is growing, and we are looking for motivated individuals to join our team. Leak detection is a skilled trade that combines technology, problem-solving, and customer service — and it is a career with real demand. Every home and commercial building has plumbing, and Florida's unique construction and climate conditions create steady year-round need for professional detection services.

Why Leak Detection?

  • Growing industry: Water damage is the #1 property insurance claim in America. Demand for professional detection continues to increase.
  • Recession-resistant: Leaks happen regardless of economic conditions. Water does not stop leaking because the market is down.
  • Skilled trade: You are not just turning wrenches — you are using thermal cameras, acoustic equipment, and pressure testing systems to solve problems.
  • Every day is different: No two leak investigations are the same. You will work in homes, condos, commercial buildings, restaurants, medical facilities, and more.
  • You help people: Finding a hidden leak and preventing thousands of dollars in damage is genuinely satisfying work.

What We Offer

  • Comprehensive training: We train you on all of our detection equipment and methods. No prior leak detection experience is required.
  • Competitive pay: Compensation based on experience and performance
  • Professional equipment: You work with top-tier detection technology — thermal cameras, acoustic sensors, pressure testing systems, and more
  • Company vehicle: Fully equipped service vehicle provided
  • Southwest Florida territory: Work across Sarasota, Manatee, Charlotte, Lee, and Collier counties
  • Growth potential: As we expand, there are opportunities for leadership and territory management

What We Look For

We value attitude and aptitude over experience. The technical skills can be taught — the right mindset cannot. Ideal candidates have:

  • Problem-solving mentality: You enjoy figuring things out and do not give up easily
  • Customer service skills: You communicate clearly, show up on time, and treat every customer's property with respect
  • Mechanical aptitude: Comfortable working with tools and technology
  • Physical fitness: The job involves kneeling, crawling, climbing, and working in Florida heat
  • Clean driving record: You will be driving a company vehicle daily
  • Reliability: Showing up, every day, ready to work

Plumbing experience, construction background, home inspection experience, or HVAC knowledge are all pluses but not required.

What Our Clients Say

We had water stains appearing on our ceiling after every heavy rain but could not figure out where the roof was leaking. Leak Inspector used thermal imaging to trace the moisture path from the ceiling stain all the way back to a failed flashing around our chimney. It turned out the water was traveling over 10 feet along a rafter before dripping through. No way we would have found that on our own.
Tampa, FL
Our irrigation system was wasting a ton of water and our water bill proved it. Leak Inspector tested each zone and found two underground leaks that were not visible on the surface. They marked both locations and our irrigation contractor fixed them the same week. Our water bill dropped by over $150 the next month. Excellent service.
Lakewood Ranch, FL
Called Leak Inspector for a pre-purchase inspection before buying our home in North Port. They found no leaks, which gave us confidence to proceed with the purchase. The thermal imaging scan of the entire house was thorough and the report was professional. Peace of mind is worth every penny. Would use them again without hesitation.

Careers at Leak Inspector FAQs

What is professional leak detection?

Professional leak detection is a specialized service that uses advanced technology, including acoustic listening equipment, thermal imaging cameras, and electronic moisture meters, to locate hidden water leaks in your plumbing system without destructive exploration. Unlike general plumbing, leak detection focuses specifically on finding the source of leaks behind walls, under floors, and beneath foundations.

How long does a leak inspection take?

A typical residential leak inspection takes one to two hours, depending on the size of your home and the complexity of the plumbing system. Larger homes, commercial properties, or situations with multiple suspected leak areas may take longer. We provide a time estimate when you schedule your appointment.

Do you offer emergency leak detection services?

Yes, we understand that water leaks can be urgent situations where every hour counts. We offer prompt scheduling for emergency leak detection situations. If you are experiencing an active water emergency, call us at (941) 214-2222 and we will work to get a technician to your property as quickly as possible.

What areas do you serve?

Leak Inspector serves all of Southwest Florida, including Sarasota, Manatee, Charlotte, Lee, Collier, Hillsborough, and Pinellas counties. Our service area includes Cape Coral, Clearwater, Fort Myers, Naples, Port Charlotte, Sarasota, Tampa Bay, and all surrounding communities.

Do I need to be home during the inspection?

Yes, we recommend that a homeowner or authorized representative be present during the inspection. Our technician needs access to all areas of the property, including utility areas and the water meter. Being present also allows us to explain our findings in real time and answer any questions you may have.

How do I schedule a leak inspection?

You can schedule a leak inspection by calling us at (941) 214-2222 or by filling out the contact form on our website. We will ask about the symptoms you are experiencing so we can prepare the right equipment for your situation. Most inspections can be scheduled within a few business days.
